Feasts of the Lord

  • When a Feast of the Lord falls on a Sunday it replaces the Sunday in Ordinary Time.
  • The Presentation of the Lord
  • The Transfiguration of the Lord
  • The Exaltation of the Holy Cross
  • The Dedication of the Lateran Basilica

Introduction

In addition to these Feasts of the Lord in Ordinary Time there are two in the Christmas Season:

  • The Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph
  • Baptism of the Lord

When a Feast of the Lord is celebrated on a Weekday there is only one reading before the Gospel which may be chosen from either the first or second reading.
